  1. Just played the demo and holy balls is it hard.

One thing I noticed that seems like a plot hole is that Luka here didn't seem to understand why the Queen Mermaid is acting the way she did. NG+ clearly showed that this Luka's experience is up to the final battle against Ilias, meaning he should've known the Queen Mermaid's motivation at that time.

It's just very confusing to me.

    1. Could just be their take on Luka is an incompetent fool with bad memory and poor cognitive skills. Maybe he will smarten up later?

    2. He figures it out after the fact. I talked to Tamamo and then Undine after the camp, and he's all like that's why! I dunno if you got this scene as well or not.

    3. OK. I played the one with Granberia, so he never figures it out (or rather, never remembers).

  3. Is the IRC still a thing or is it dead, and bugs on the wiki page?

  4. So are there actually ways to access scenes with the spirits, or is Gnome the only one available right now? I'm guessing there is one for each of them, but unless the order I got them in back in the first part is affecting their availability after Port Natalia, there doesn't seem to be any way to bond with them.

    1. There are scenes for Sylph and Salamander, but not on part 3. It's during part 2, when you're getting them. For Sylph you have to go get her first and lose to her 3 times before winning. For Salamander you just need to get her first. Obviously, this means you can't have both scenes in the same playthrough.

Also, Sylph's scene will be available during camp after getting her, while Salamander's will be available during camp after Undine's Spring.

  5. Wooo, loved it! The battles were cool, the story is getting interesting, and I see two potential party members for the future.

Though there are a few bugs, but I'll wait until the finished version of part 3 before doing a deep check for them.

  6. So is there going to be a bandit sex scene in part 3? I'm asking this because it seems from what tamano said to luka that he had sex with one of the bandits. Unless if I missed a scene in part 1.

  10. I have encountered a bug during the NG+ Granberia fight. During said fight where the Serene Mind should be, no option is there to scroll back to where it should be. I hope this will be fixed in the next patch since I clearly remember the Granberia NG+ fight and Serene Mind was definitely there, just thought i'd say this. :) Also, you can't resummon Sylph for some odd reason while she is already summoned, another bug to fix but I can manage with it.

Although there are a few typos and so forth, it looks VERY good. Excellent work as always! :D

    1. Also, I have replaced some of NG+'s music with other songs from a few memorable series' songs and, imho at least, they fit very well. If anyone is interested just message me here and i'll link the songs I replaced for 2Qs bgm set, and don't worry, the original MGQ are left completely intact. :) No offense to the MGQNG+ dev team at all, in fact I actually LOVE/know some of the songs they used, such as the RoAW (Record of Agarest War) songs that I love very dearly so I mean no offense whatsoever, it's just that the songs I replaced certain other songs with fit a bit more, imho at least. :P I also switch the boss theme that Lillith/Lillim use to another for when the "boss" after Kraken begins, won't spoil it. heh heh :D And WOW does it fit so well for that boss fight, imho at least due to my love of the RoAW series. heh ^^

    2. I'm also hoping for a Serene Mind fix soon. I want to replay parts 1 and 2 because I see some new CGs that weren't there before ;)

      Delete
    3. It's not just affecting Granberia. I could not fight Tamamo as Serene Mind would not activate for me. She kept one shotting me with Nine moons.

      Delete
    4. The Serene Mind bug is most likely due to the fact that, ever since part 3 began, the Serene Mind was reworked into a choosable variant selection to choose between the much more powerful but costly level 2 variation of Serene Mind and the normal but less effect level 3 Serene Mind. It could mean that those parts have yet to receive that updated Serene Mind, but the MGQNG+ should be able to get to it soon, since i'm sure we all want to have Ipeia and Nibi along for Part 3's events after all. heh heh ^^

  11. Was looking through the pics in the character section and was wondering, WHY IS NERIS THERE?

Considering, along with Nero, she is Luka's child how is she meant to exist? This is not paradox.

  12. Yep. Big Serene Mind glitch when you try to go back to Part 1 from the current Part 3 demo...and even worse you can't get anywhere without Serene Mind. Granberia takes you down, Sylph can OHKO you, and Salamander just outright destroys you.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I did fallen angel dance and it seemed like granberia could not hit me once but I could use my skills even if I could not hit her with normal attacks. So that also might be part of the glitch.

      Delete
    2. The only real reason I'm complaining about this is because it's made it essentially impossible for me to view Salamander's other scene, since beating her without Serene Mind AND the other spirits is essentially impossible.

  15. I know this sounds a bit strange, but where can we go to suggest ideas for new paths and such? I just recently thought of a decent idea that borrows from Final Fantasy IX, but I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't gone through FF IX yet. Would it be okay to just post it here? Regardless of the spoilers? Just curious since, while it would be a time-consuming route, it would be a neat idea nonetheless. :)

    1. I would say choose whatever you want to do, it's up to you.

    2. Hmm... Alright. Sorry for the spoilers though again... ^^;

Again, nothing too fascinating but the idea of an underground tunnel to a continent, if not all three of them, would be a neat idea. Just like when Zidane and co. had to resort to going through the underground tunnel Fossil Roo when they had to get to the unknown continent to find out Kuja's motives behind the war on the Mist Continent. This might be a neat idea if, say Luka had to get back to another continent as soon as possible but no ships nor Galda are available at that time.

      Again though, just a neat enough idea i'd thought i'd show. Sorry for those that haven't completed FF IX for the spoilers. ^^;

      Delete
    3. Also forgot to add that if he was solo at the time as well, like he was when he was trying to search for Alice in the underground lab near Remina.

      Delete
    4. Hard to say, as he could always have Alice fly him over or ask a Heavenly Knight to teleport him over.

Then there's the problem why these tunnels even exist. Did Promestein build them or are they ancient constructs from an unknown Monster in the past.

      Delete
    5. I mean when he's temporarily solo in situations, such as the one where he searched the Underground Laboratory near Remina, that kind of thing. Also, if they don't take care of the Sealing Device that is used to affect Alice, then she won't have said ability, so yeah... And i'm thinking more like ancient civilizations, such as the long-forgotten animists and such. So yeah, just an idea like I said. ^^;

  16. OH MY GOD!
I JUST REALIZED THE MUSIC FROM WHEN VOICE IS BLAMING HERSELF IS FROM LEGEND OF DRAGOON.
    THIS IS IMPORTANT.
And only just realized how absurdly easy Queen Mermaid is. Level 2 Undine until you're interrupted, summon all, stall until you can summon Salamander again, then Element Spica. Finish.
As always, it's awesome. Great job guys. Always happy to see an update.

    1. I found a MUCH better replacement song for that part, imho at least. ^-^

      Delete
    2. Perhaps you think it's better because it doesn't hit your nostalgia button SO GOD DAMN MUCH!
Legend of Dragoon was my very first RPG, so it made me go back in time. I can remember all the times it played and it fit the moment perfectly.
I do have to say I was looking forward to being able to have the Heavenly Knights fight. I was hoping to see what Alma Elma did, or let Tamamo unseal, but I suppose that for enemies as weak as the Queen Mermaid, Tamamo no Mae would be way overkill.

      Delete
    3. Actually... The replacement I used for said part DOES hit my nostalgia very much so, I literally GREW up with FF VII after all. <3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXmV5Lp92_0

    4. Ah, I more meant the current song, the one from Legend of Dragoon, doesn't hit your nostalgia. LoD hits mine even more than FF VII.

  18. Also, I mentioned this bug earlier in the MGQNG+ wiki page, but never had image-proof of it at the time, this time i'll show it though. It's the bug that has the Queen Harpy "fade" for a few lines of dialogue for some strange reason, just thought i'ld point it out here. ^^; http://i.imgur.com/pB74K6q.jpg Just a little heads-up there. :) Also... I dunno why one can't choose "Granberia" as a choice (if you decide to meet the Harpy Village diplomatically as I like to do ) for a love interest, since many GranberiaXLuka fans such as myself would LOVE to choose that option without a doubt, really... <3

  20. Well, that stealth-update did fix the problem...but now there's a new one. In Part 1 (demo version), after you get Undine, you suddenly can't summon her anymore. Still, finally got to see the scene with Mandie, so that was a nice bonus.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's not that they banished. You just don't have them with you. Remember that having them in your party was optional, and in the case of the part 3 demo it takes it as if you said no to both of them. When part 3 is fully integrated we'll probably get to see their new dialogues during the Sentora quests.

    2. True enough, my only hope is that there's a good GranberiaXLuka moment, doesn't even need to be a Yellow Camp scene, even a small hint of ANY kind would do nicely, but then again I guess i'm being a bit picky, but can you blame me? Tamamo has her Camp scene plus a good amount of others for Alice and not JUST Camp scenes. XD lol So yeah, just felt like saying is all. :P I'm thinking that maybe after doing the Dragon Seal Trial when getting the Yellow Orb for Galda later there can be a Camp scene of some sort with Granberia, as i'm well aware of the Dragon Seal Trial's authentication of wedding Monster Girls of Dragon-kind and i'm guessing that acquiring the Dragon Seal is optional, at least I think so, for those who are aiming towards GranberiaXLuka like I am of course. heh heh ^-^

      Delete
    3. Granberia shouldn't be to long now, was helpful in Succubus Village and said she would like to help in Port Natalia except that she can't swim.

      Delete
    4. Yeah, unlike most Monster Girls, Luka earning a relationship with Granberia takes time, much like when forging a Legendary-type blade, it must take both time and patience in order for it to be tempered to the best effect. ^^ I'm definitely seeing a LukaXGranberia moment if he decides to have the Dragon Seal tattoo etched on his hand after acquiring the Yellow Orb from Sphinx (though I have a feeling that it will be a whole new plethora of questions this time, since as Sphinx said before "I prefer the wise." as she cannot be beaten in combat, even with Luka's better strength and for good reason :P ) in the Sabasa region as long as he hasn't got into any h-scenes with Monster Girls along the way in the story of course. :D

      Delete
    5. I bet she could be defeated. There's a difference between sealed and defeated. It's the same way Kraken was defeated, but Luka didn't seal her. I think once Sphinx sees his absolute power, she would likely give up. Even if she can't be sealed for long (Say, more than a few seconds), once she runs out of power, he could just seal her again.
Of course, that's if he didn't get the questions right. I can't imagine they would keep the same questions as the first time since Sphinx could probably sense Luka's power.

      Delete
    6. I think you might've forgotten that Sphinx is one of the rare few of Monster Girls that is completely immune against Sealing effects, just like Page 65537 is(the only exception to Page 65537 is that she can be sealed by fire-based elements, Sphinx on the other hand has no such weaknesses). ^^;

      Delete
    7. Ah, I thought she was resistant in that when she was sealed, she was pretty much automatically brought back. But even then, she wouldn't come back at full power. Hell, make her a boss that has multiple phases. Each time she comes back or is defeated, she comes back stronger, but with less health.
Or he beats her and she's immune, but recognizes his strength? After all, this little boy sends stars from hell, has the four spirits with him, and a veritable harem following him, two of which are two of the planet's strongest monsters and a collection of others who are just along for the ride. He might win an exemption from getting eaten after beating her.
There's a number of routes they could choose here. Just like us!

      Delete
    8. Instead of sealing her, he can use his iron sword after he seals her once and beat her to near death, hoe fights are in paradox because he does not have angel halo and has to fight till the are weak and give up.

      Delete
    9. In all honesty I actually prefer answering her riddles more, since... who know? Maybe we'll get a really good question such as whom Luka will devote himself to at/after the end of his quest to bring down ILLIASS and he'll get to choose whatever waifu we prefer for him, so that's always a neat possibility after going through the initial riddles first, that'd be so great... <3

      Delete
    10. I'll be happy if I can simply push Sara out a window.

      ...

Okay, not really, but damn was she an incredible irritation in the original game, maybe even more so than Meia. I don't think there's anyone following and playing NG+ that actually likes Sara, and I'm really hoping we get the chance to express that dislike. Even better would be if Granberia shoots her down while you're traveling with her.

As for the Sphinx? Sure, she was 'immune' to sealing, but that's only because she had an intense amount of energy and Luka was still inexperienced with the sword at the time, and still growing into his power. I find it impossible to believe that Angel Halo could bring the heavenly knights to their knees, beat several angels into submission, work on Illias, and yet be unable to seal the Sphinx now that he's even MORE powerful than when he fought the goddess.

And of course there's always the option of pulling out the Iron Sword. Or using a Daystar to collapse the pyramid on top of her. From the narrative perspective of the story in general though, I fully expect the Vampire Queen to make an appearance somewhere during this story arc.

      Delete
    11. Even if she gets pushed out she can just fly as a succubus and be pissed when she flies back in :)

      Delete
    12. If I remember, Nanabi was not sealed by Angel Halo on the first quest, but by a Daystar. Daystar is not a sword technique (as noted by Tamano on Yamatai), so it could seal Sphinx.

      Delete
    13. You remember correctly, but the reason Daystar sealed him was because it's a move used with holy power. Angel Halo is a sword made of the melted corpses of 666 angels, thus holy power. So it would still be holy power hitting her, so it would run into the same problem. Though, I agree ClanCrusher about Sphinx not being able to stand against Luka.

      Delete
  25. Great job with the new area! The fight against the Mermaid Queen was simply amazing. The dialogue too, one can really feel her utter hatred towards everyone which is hard to show in a mostly text-based medium.

Now for a few small things that I would like to see fixed:
When Luka and co set camp, the save option disappears but then we see what Alice does since she's sent underwater to fix some problems, so for a very long stretch saving isn't possible. It would be nice if you set the no-save flag when Luka can actually start asking people about their opinions. Minor thing sure but would certainly help.
Another small thing is during Succubus Village, when asking Tamamo about her opinion and have her tell the story about the past, the background changes to camp, even though they are indoors.

One last thing that isn't so much a bug as much as something I would like to see, namely that I checked the script file and there is actually an option to have the 4 Bandits join Luka and some texts are programmed for them here and there too (no camp texts though), but sadly it's not used. Any chance we can use that option in the future?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'd love to see the four bandits as well, and their potential interaction with Elle if/when she joins up, even if you only have one really following you around. Having a camp full of young monster girls vying for Luka's attention seems like comedy gold in the making.

      Delete
    2. Right, that would also apply. Now imagine having even more Lolis around, like Chrome or La Place (the latter may or may not be impossible <.<). It would be like a harem of adorable little sisters.

      Delete
    3. Actually, I too agree that it's indeed possible. After all, Luka has the potential to change events that happened once before to a different result and, as i've said before, I feel that both Laplace and Promestein are redeemable, without question. :)

    1. You do realize that goes against EVERYTHING Luka believes in, don't you? :/ It'd make so much more sense to just have a chance to "redeem" ILLIASS if one really cares about her that much after defeating her, seriously, just retarded no matter how you look at it. :/

      Delete
    2. Well, it creates a cool idea. Not for this mod, but for an idea for another mod. One where it creates a branch if you decide not to help Alice in the beginning of MGQ.
You hear the explosion, but decide it has nothing to do with you and run on to your baptism. Ilias appears and gives you her blessing, starting you on the Holy Hero route rather than the True Hero route. The entire time, Ilias is either teaching you how to fight or perhaps allowing some hero from the past to teach you. Maybe she lets Heinrich see Luka, but tells him nothing else so all he does is teach Luka his techniques. Since Heinrich knows Luka now, he knows he doesn't have the Spirits and guides him down that route, teaching him Demon sword techniques. Then the empowered versions until Luka finally showdowns with the Heavenly Knights. Now that they aren't as nice and don't like Luka, of course they'll fight with their full power. As he fights more and more, more of his power flows out, finally shattering his ring and unlocking his holy powers as he faces down against their full might.
Damn, that actually sounds kind of cool. Maybe he uses that useless ass holy sword from San Ilia, but the monsters go all Paradox on us and just leave before they get too injured.

      Delete
    3. Still sounds retarded, imho at least. Sure... help someone that's been WANTING the extinction of Monsters in the first place and to top it off she's the opposite of Darnkess. Despite what other naysayers may say, Darkness is a half that must never die, ever... :< And with SUCH a perfect world ripped apart during the SECOND Monster War... I'm sure THAT'LL help out a lot with the general masses... >_> *coughcoughespeciallywiththeholy/darkenegybalanceneededtopreventthebreakingoftheancestorssealcoughcough* Especially since she's been wanting to be nothing more than an attention-whore, just because she thinks she's the only one who suffered from eons of loneliness, pff... I can tell you right now that she isn't the only one that dealt with such an issue, yet the others I speak of never whined about so petty an issue. I prefer the logical way of coexistence, something Agarest never really had an issue with to begin with between its Neocolum, High Elf, Nelth, Greer, Rem Lorient, and Ryulent races, seriously. :/ The only ones that did have an issue with other races are both Dark Elves and Syrium, but only because most of the other common races were raised to believe them to be nothing but evildoers, even though this is not completely true as both Lavinia (Dark Elf) and Fyuria/Mervina (both Syrium) were merely victims in a world that shunned them harshly until the main character(s) and friends stepped in and settled this over time.
